With help of a LEGO camera and a picture evaluation software, at first the initial condition of the Cube is determined and then the Cube is solved controlled by a program. His web site contains also a video of the CubeSolver in action.

In this map you can see satellite photos of every point of the earth. The photos are detailed enough that I even found Münchshofen, a small village with about 800 inhabitants. In well-chosen areas (e.g. Munich) you can zoom in that you can see buildings and even cars.
